The Growlers began in a Dana Point warehouse, where house parties, CD-Rs, beer, and unforgettable live shows gave rise to a distinctive sound they called Beach Goth. Their sun-soaked, nocturnal blend of rock and roll, soul, surf, and punk grew from a local scene into a lasting cultural movement, eventually inspiring the Beach Goth Festival.
After four self-produced albums, The Growlers released Chinese Fountain, produced by Everloving Records chief JP Plunier. The Everloving era captures some of the band’s most defining and beloved music—essential records for anyone discovering the world of The Growlers.
Singer Brooks Nielsen continues to carry the music forward with a new band and a loyal global following.
