RELEASE: 2016 DIGITAL EP
Originally recorded for Aquarium Drunkard’s popular “Lagniappe Sessions” series, The Paris-New York Sessions EP expounds on the collaborative inspiration that sparked Adan & Xavi Y Los Imanes’ self-titled debut LP. Comprised entirely of cover songs, Adan Jodorowsky (aka Adanowsky) and Xavi Polycarpe (of French band Gush) recorded the tracks both in their shared home base of Paris and while on tour in New York City.
Their take on John Lennon’s “Woman,” was recorded in John and Yoko’s first apartment in New York, where they were being hosted by Sean Ono Lennon. Says Jodorowsky, “since our record was a collection of ballads about love and women, we felt it was the right song, in the right place, to cover.” The three track EP also includes their interpretation of “Seabird,” by of 1970s pop duo The Alessi Brothers, and “Canciуn Para Mi Muerte” by Argentina’s legendary rock heroes Sui Generis.
